	<p>The medigrid VO represents the general German biomedical and Life Science community, accompanied by additional more specific VOs like the pneumogrid VO.  The medigrid VO was created in the context of the publicly funded joint research project <a class="externallink" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.d-grid-gmbh.de/index.php?id=117&L=1|MediGRID">[1]</a>. While the funding ended in 2009, the medigrid VO is still actively and increasingly used to develop, offer and share grid services in the in the fields of medicine, bioinformatics and health sciences.</p>
