Be direct, kind, and specific. Good collaboration here looks like clear bug reports, focused patches, and feedback that helps someone improve the work without making them feel small.
Examples of welcome behavior:
- Giving concrete reproduction steps.
- Explaining tradeoffs without personal attacks.
- Keeping disagreement about the code, docs, or process.
- Respecting boundaries and private contact details.
Examples of unacceptable behavior:
- Harassment, threats, or sustained personal attacks.
- Sexualized language or attention.
- Publishing private information without permission.
- Dismissing someone based on identity, background, or experience level.
- Derailing issues or pull requests after being asked to stop.
The maintainer may edit, hide, or remove comments and may block people from the project when behavior makes collaboration unsafe or unworkable.
