How to highlight all occurrences of an instance variable instead of only highlighting the definition?

As you see, the embedding variable is only highlighted for the definition but not for all occurrences (when my cursor is actually on the latter occurrence of it), which seems odd to me. Meanwhile class variables work fine as I expected. Is there a reason for that? Can I change this behavior?
