Draft of the scverse conference 2026 website, built natively in Hugo and hosted directly on the scverse GitHub site (replacing the previous Squarespace setup). Takes structural inspiration from the 2024/2025 conference sites, in a light scverse-branded style.

What's here

  • Multi-page section at /conference2026 replacing the old single splash page:
Overview (hero + key-dates timeline), Speakers, Schedule, Registration, Call for proposals, Sponsors, Venue & travel, Code of Conduct, Organizers
  • Light, scverse-branded layouts reusing the site header/footer, with a sticky sub-nav (active-page highlighting)
  • Scoped styles in assets/conference2026.scss

Status

Confirmed details are in (Copenhagen / DTU, Oct 12–14 2026, conference@scverse.org). Everything still TBD — speakers, exact deadlines, full schedule, sponsorship prospectus — is clearly marked as placeholder. Code of Conduct text reused from the 2025 conference.

Follow-ups

  • Hero reuses the existing background image — may want a Copenhagen/DTU-specific one
  • Registration will need an external ticketing link (no e-commerce equivalent to the old Squarespace cart)

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Replace the single "save the date" splash with a Hugo section for the
2026 conference (Copenhagen, DTU, Oct 12-14), hosted directly on the
scverse GitHub site instead of Squarespace.

- content/conference2026/: landing + speakers, schedule, registration,
  call-for-proposals, sponsors, travel, code-of-conduct, organizers
- layouts/conference2026/ + conference-nav partial: light scverse-branded
layouts reusing the site header/footer, sticky sub-nav with active state
- assets/conference2026.scss: scoped styles (hero, timeline, cards, tiers)

Confirmed details are in; TBD content (speakers, deadlines, full schedule)
is marked as placeholder. Code of Conduct reused from the 2025 conference.

Replace the flat blue gradient on sub-page headers with the same
background image as the landing hero, in a shorter header band.
